"There is a certain amount of idiocy you carry yourself with, Bonnie. It was cute and endearing when you were eight but now you're a little old for this, don't you think?" A young girl, not much younger than Bonnie, Lydia, sat high up on a staircase with her feet hanging over a bookshelf. She kicked her feet as she watched her childhood friend packing. "What is this about?" Lydia's voice was exhasperated and accompanied by her signature eyeroll. For a twenty two year old, she has learned to be a disappointed mother very quickly.

"I want to spread my business. I want to find new metals. It's not like I'll never come back, but I want something new. I want an adventure, even if it requires a little bit of danger," Her voice eager, Bonnie Vanderveer was on her hands and knees pushing as much as she could into a duffle bag. The once white dress only proved her need of adventure, now a washed brown and tattered beyond repair. Bonnie's sheer black stockings similarly moth-eaten and full of holes and tears. 

"Must you keep pulling these stunts?" Lydia Gilden dropped from her place and landed on her bare feet, dress skirt falling around her. She stepped over to look down and into the bag. "What good will a can of spoiled meat and a wrench and a few more guns do you?" Bonnie tilted her head up with a beaming grin, a few curls fell out of place, stained with oil. 

"I suppose I'll have to find out next week, won't I?" She sat back on her knees. "Don't expect me convince me to stay, this time. I'm really going!" She bounded up and twirled in her dress. Bonnie picked up the bag and set it beside the bookcase parallel the stairs.

"We'll see, I have some time before then," The taller one tapper her on the nose and headed towards the door. "Your mother won't like hearing this again."

"She's used to it," She checked her watch. "I have work, I need to get to get my things together."
