Azarath came back eating a finger. "So I was hoping for the ironic thing with my dad but I had a ton of time and wanted to win. I lost count somewhere after a thousand thirty five but I know there are more than that," Her make up was still perfect. She flipped her hair over her shoulder. The sadistic goddess sounded unimpressed with her work. "Oh, and my brother. I wasn't sure if he counted or not. The younger one," She turned her attention to Candi. "So how much did I lose by?" She fixed her tight dress and showed off her eyes. A pink braclet covered her birthmark.

Candi looked surprised, she said, "Y-you.. You beat me by a shitload... Wh... What.." Courtney stifled a laugh and Shatter grinned, shaking her head at her friend's dispair. Meanwhile, Candi was on the floor and hugging Azarath's legs, "Teach me your ways, master!"

The redheaded goddess kicked her off the foot of her black stilettos. "Don't touch me, mortal!" She sounded disgusted. "I could not believe I won with a score like that. That's pathetic," Azarath crossed her arms and looked up. "Stupid mortal. Immortals don't even count," She crossed her arms before pulling Odin's phone out of her brassiere. She looked at some of his messages. "My poor brother talks to you? And what is this? He confessed too... Hah, too bad... Courtney... Won't be getting a response from him," Azarath giggled.

Candi pouted and then happily asked Shatter, "Hey Shatteeeeer?"

"What?"

"Can we-"

"No."

"But you didn't even hear what I wanted to do!"

"I assume it's either candy or killing. So, no," Shatter said and crossed her arms. Candi pouted again and then poked Courtney, who shook her head.

"Anyway, who's the unlucky bitch?" Azarath continued to read through their conversations and go through Odin's phone. She laughed every few seconds at the writing. "He really liked this poor girl. Shame," She shook her head and put the phone away back into her brassiere. "I almost want to show the girl all that dirt. Good thing it's none of you, right? She would leave him for good! Hearing who he really is!" She laughed and spoke rather loudly.

Courtney frowned and asked irritably, "Show me what 'dirt'?" Candi stopped poking Courtney and looked over at Azarath, both girls waiting. Shatter ignored the group and took out her phone, texting random people.

"Oh! So it's you! My little brother really must have had a thing for you!" She pulled the phone out and opened the notepad app. Azarath turned it around and showed it to the girls. The writing wasn't in English at all and switched languages every paragraph. There were links to social medias every-so-often as well. Courtney snatched the device from the smug goddess' hands and clicked on a Twitter link near the top. It was a picture of Courtney with a few of her friends and a rude comment about boys at the bottom. She clicked on a Facebook link, it was Odin in the infirmary when he was found out about cutting. Courtney has posted it, they were so close to being a couple at the time. Odin's obsessive conversations made a little more sense when she figured out how to translate the dialogue. It was mostly sweet things about her and reasons why the relationship wouldn't work. Most of those reasons had something to do with Odin. Many of the words he used, even when translated, didn't make sense anyway.

Courtney felt horrible now, he had even wrote poetry and done drawings for her. She always took him for a mess on the side of the street. By the likes of how his sister talked, he was gone now. While Courtney still held the phone, it began to buzz. A dubstep song played along with the picture of one of his friends. The girl dropped it on the ground. Azarath laughed at her, "Pathetic looser, right? Didn't you end up in his pants? Haha! You must never want to be around that trash again! That's why we left him in this irrelevant realm."

Shatter glanced over at the others and Candi looked confused, looking over to Shatter as if to say, 'Go help them!' Shatter rubbed her temples before putting her phone in her pocket. 'Let's just go,' She thought, then glanced at Azarath. Shatter grabbed Courtney's wrist, the girl let herself get pulled along, lost in her own guilt, regret and shame. "Look, it's been fun and all, but we need to go, good-bye," Shatter just about dragged Courtney back to the orphanage, Candi following like a puppy. "I... I thought he was a... He was a mess... And he... he loves me..." Courtney spoke in broken sentences, tears welling in her eyes. Shatter bit her lower lip and glanced down at the female, "Look, maybe you two can get together eventually. But right now, I think we all need a little break from this shit storm." Courtney nodded, a blank expression on her face. Shatter sighed and noticed Candi looking at her. "What?!" She snapped. Candi smiled slightly and said, "You DO care~~" "I hate you so much," Shatter groaned as she lead Courtney to her room. She made sure the poor girl laid down and went to sleep. Candi scurried off to the bottom floor, probably to go hide. Shatter shook her head and went to her own room. She laid down and closed her eyes, feeling tears well in her eyes. The pinkette felt so confused, she wanted to help but wasn't sure how. Courtney was feeling lower than ever and Shatter had no clue where Odin was. To be honest, she felt lost and she wanted to see if she could help the two. Shatter knew it was useless. She was like a side character in a sick show, and she hated that Courtney was feeling terrible. Shatter undressed and curled up on her bed, ignoring everything around her, warm tears slowly rolling down her cheeks. Eventually, sleep overtook her and the tears became cold and stinging against her skin.

"Oh, well you're no fun!" Azarath flipped her hair over her shoulder and rolled her neck to add to her egotistical act. "Hmpf!" She pouted and walked off, upon leaving her position, she began to fade and fizzle into the cool air.

Odin, who had stumbled outside of the orphanage, wanting to fight his sister, barely got outside and had fallen against the side of the building. The cold anf rough brick of the wall scraped his head and ripped his hair. His jacket faced a few tears and future stains.

The most Odin could move was his hands to his head and shiver. His insides seemed to twist in pain while his muscles tightened to the point of bursting. Trying to move again, Odin pushed his chest forward, closing his eyes tightly, before a shot of pain pushed him into the blue brick wall again.

The side of the building, rather than the front, was hidden from the sun and bordered by bushes and flowers before an open area with electrical parts was hidden. Odin sat between two large bushes in the dirt.

After an hour or two, Shatter woke up and panted heavily, having had a nightmare about her friends dying. She quickly put on shorts and a big t-shirt. She ran to Courtney's room and stared at the female for a while, telling herself the female was fine. Shatter gripped her cat tail tightly and shook her head, wanting to go for a walk to clear her head. She felt tears well in her eyes, still not settled on whether or not Odin was alright. Odin. The bastard made her feel love for him. Or did he? She hoped it wasn't. She hated the fact Courtney might fall for Odin, and decided to stay out of it. If the two got together, all that mattered was that Courtney was happy, right? Right. Shatter smiled and nodded. The cat girl stepped outside but fell to her knees in front and leaned against the edge of the front of the building. She sat on the side of the building and buried her face in her hands, beginning to sob uncontrollably, but quietly. She hoped that Odin was okay, she couldn't bear the thought of the male getting hurt. Shatter was thankfully Courtney was fine physically but was not sure what happened to Odin. "P-please be okay," She whispered and let out a choked sob, her throat tightening a little at the thought of Odin dying slowly. She sobbed and hugged her knees to her chest, 'Please let Odin be okay, please... I'd even push Courtney and Odin to be together just so they could be okay! Please! I just need to know they're both alright... Please...'

Moving back and forth to elevate himself to move to this knees, Odin tried to crawl to a more visible position. Instead of managing distance, he managed to dirty and wound himself more. His mouth hung open, cheek brushing the grass, soundless. There was no amount of power he could summon to save himself, not even enought to use his vocal chords.

Lips formed words, but failed to make form sounds. Muscles knew patterns, but failed to perform them. Thoughts brought memories, but failed to put them in order. Odin exhaled before coughing, finally emmitting a groan. The overexertion forced him to recoil into a ball on his side. His face contorted, his jaw clenched. A quake of pain made him fall limp on the ground again, unwinding.

Shatter sat up straight and saw Odin. She gasped and quickly went to the male. Shatter patted Odin's cheek, "Odin??" She took out her phone and called for an ambulance. Shatter stood up, having Odin lean on her, dragging him out from the side. She panted, her body not used to carrying another person. She smiled in relief when the ambulance arrived. EMTs came out and put Odin on a stretcher. She sat inside and watched Odin as they drove to the hospital, she was still in her shorts and t shirt. The cat girl gently put her hand on Odin's head then thought, 'Courtney's. Not yours.' She withdrew her hand and stared blankly at the ground. The medics came out and took Odin to an ER. Shatter waited in a lobby area and tapped her foot on the ground. She waited until someone said she could go in and sat next to Odin, watching him silently. 'Courtney, Odin is in the hospital,' She texted her friend, knowing she'd come soon to see Odin. Courtney woke up and read the text, hurriedly putting on clothes and checked the times for the next bus. Shatter watched Odin and whispered, "Please be okay... You need to be there for m- Courtney."

Yawning and shivering, Odin opened his eyes to see himself in a hospital bed in hospital clothes. Before noticing Shatter's presence, he pulled his bare arms under the covered and hid. The IVs bothered him, just knowing they were in his arm. He found himself holding his legs, sitting in the bed, hiding under the covers. He shivered again and laid back down, still under the blanket. "Dloc!" He hissed.

His hands went to his hair to hold his head. The wires touched his shoulders and scared him, not expecting them. He remained oblivious to any presence other than his own and continued to hide under his blanket. "Ados?" He looked out from under the blanket, looking for something to drink. All he saw was a cup of water, not what he wanted.

The average person would be worried to show up at the hospital, seemingly alone. Odin was so used to being confused it didn't matter. The only thing out of the oridinary was that someone else was taking care of him. "Stuc ym naelc ot deen I," He reached for the cup, dispite himself. Leaning didin't get him far enough. Even if it did, Odin didn't have the strengh to pick it up. Spill it maybe.

Shatter watched Odin and leaned back in her chair. She seemed relieved that Odin looked better and smiled as he awoke. She felt insignificant as Courtney walked in, "Odin?" The female smiled, "You're okay!" She stood next to the bed then glanced at Shatter. The female clearly was jealous and quickly left the room to leave Odin and Courtney alone together. Shatter stormed out of the hospital, confused about why she was so jealous. 'Maybe you really do like Odin, but that doesn't matter, he likes Courtney,' Shatter's eyes welled with tears and she ran back to the orphanage, locking herself in her room.

"Get out!" The blanket was pulled tighter around Odin. He squeezed his eyes shut. His voice was groggy and weak although it projected the same anger it always did. Odin tensed up again, pulling himself into a sitting position. The fire of the IV returned because of his. Odin tried to calm down. All he managed was a loud exhale barely paired itself with vocals. "Get out!" He hissed again. Odin's tone was quiet and more desperate. The amount of power he wanted to summon just wasn't for this occasion. His hands loosened around the edge of the blanket and moved to cover his stomach as if he was preparing for a beating.

Courtney gasped then nodded and ran out of the room. She went back to the orphanage and knocked on Shatter's door, "You okay in the-" "Go away!" Shatter yelled and covered her ears, her tail curling around her body. She began to cry quietly and curl up. Courtney sighed and went to her room, laying on her bed. 'Well now I've got Shatter AND Odin mad at me... Sheesh... What did I do to deserve this?' Courtney wondered.

Odin waited a few moments to be sure he was alone. He reached again for the cup and tapped the side. Internally damning himself, he tapped the foam cup again. It leaned back before returning to its original position. "Dloc," Odin hissed. A soft knock was against the door. "Everything alright in here?" A nurse? A doctor? Odin only had the blanket moved enough to see his cup. The voice was as soft as the knock. Practically quiet, as if not to wake him up. "Ados," He flatly whispered. "Hm?" The person repeated back. "Soda," Odin took a moment in between mentally damning the caretaker for not understanding and mentally damning himself because he should have known better by now. "I don't think that's so good for you right now," The oddly kind voice was closer, had Odin missed the sounds of their footsteps in such a silent room? Upon this realization becoming clear, he also noticed his soda was now farther back on the table. "Ados," He repeated, mildly more demanding, yet still weak.

His arm fell limp against the cold metal table. Not defeated, but retreating from the cold air and his unsuccess. He did his best to take a deep breath and let it out slowly. Odin attempted to return to his sleeping position although it proved difficult not to tangle himself in cords and wires. All at once, the burning of every needle in his arms began to rise and come back to mind. He groaned and tried to roll away. He was horribly embarrassed with the position he found himself in.

All because Azarath wanted revenge.

Courtney tried to think of a way to make it so that Odin and Shatter would cease to be upset with her. She ran her fingers through her hair and muttered things to herself. Meanwhile, Shatter was still curled up and biting her nails. She stopped and thought, 'Courtney came back... Does that mean Odin is fine? Maybe I should go check on him?' After seeing the pros and cons in her mind, she finally got up. Quietly opening the door, the catgirl left the orphanage to head to the hospital. The walk was annoying for her, since she had only shorts, some ankle socks, sneakers and a t-shirt for the cold weather that night. Shatter shivered and rubbed her arms, 'How cold is it? Thirty degrees below freezing or whatever? Ugh. I think I see the hospital now... Just another turn...' To her relief, she was correct and Shatter ran to it. Reaching the front desk, she asked to see a patient with the name 'Odin', since she didn't know his last name. Once receiving the room number, she discarded the map because she honestly didn't care about it. As she neared the room Odin was in, she felt her stomach become a safehaven for what seemed to be billions of butterflies. Shatter had her hand on the knob and breathed in deeply then out through her mouth. The door squeaked slightly as she opened it, and looked inside,

"Odin?"

Odin retracted his arm and shivered. He balled up and shook his head. The IV wires twisted and restricted the flow of the liquid. He sighed and pulled his right arm closer to his chest while leaving his right arm flat to lessen the strain of the IV. He took in a deep breath. In. And out.

The door opened. He almost expected to hear the nurse place water on the table for him. "Odin?" He tried to remain motionless, although his eyes widened and shot to glace at the door from under his blanket. He took a deep breath. In. And out.

He laid in silence. Not daring to respond. He didn't want to. He didn't need to. What was he supposed to say? What did she want him to say? There was no amount of apologizing he could do for his families affects on them, and nothing he could do in preparation for their future actions. He took a deep breath. In. And out.

His shoulders loosened and allowed his head to lay comfortably on his pillow. Odin's mouth opened slightly more to breath easier. He hadn't noticed he was breathing through his mouth. His eyes were half-lidded, he hadn't noticed how tired he was. Realizing he was tired, this could be his escape. He could completely avoid any contact with Shatter if he fell asleep fast enough.

He took a deep breath. In. And out.

Shatter took a hesitant step inside the room and closed the door quietly behind her, well as quietly as she could. The female walked over to the lump and gently put a hand on what she thought was Odin's shoulder, "Are you awake?" She whispered and gingerly moved the blanket down slightly. Shatter could only see a tuft or two of onyx black hair, and she smiled, still very much fond of Odin. The girl sat down by Odin's bedside, pulling a chair up to the bed. She watched the male breathe for a bit before curling up, her tail pressing against her thigh. Kicking off her sneakers, Shatter hugged her knees to her chest, 'I'll wait for you to wake up then.' She closed her eyes and breathed softly through her mouth, falling asleep after a few minutes of almost total silence inside the hospital room.
